Kerala is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is named as one of the ten paradises of the world and is famous for is ecotourism and beautiful backwaters.
I consider myself very fortunate for getting the opportunity to visit this place full of wonders. It was a group trip so we booked a private van to Alleppey. After reaching the destination we booked a three roomed boathouse as there were twelve of us.It was a blissful experience sitting on boat slowly moving through the emerald backwaters of Kerala. The boat was made up of wood like an luxury hotel it had everything including a balcony in the front,a lounge,a dining room, pantry and three bedrooms with attached bathrooms. The boat provided us with full board traditional Kerala meals and 24-hour service. It provided me with an opportunity to spend some quality time with my loved ones.
After spending a pleasant day and a peaceful night at the boathhouse, we went to Athirapally falls. The huge shady trees and the water spray from the falls made the whole area refreshing even on a hot sunny day.
After bathing in the sparkling cold water we went back to our hotel room then immediately left for Thrissur where we stayed in a art cottage named as 'clay fingers' themed on clay pottery. The fancy rooms in which we stayed were in a hut surrounded by greenery, a small pool , a relaxing area with a swing and a yoga sthan. They serves us sadya along with exotic fishes like sardines and pomfrets cooked in handmade clay pots and served in freshly plucked banana leaves in an open dining room in the middle of the nature. There was a showroom of mind blowing vases, pots, sculptures made with clay and ceramic art pieces. The whole experience just felt like sitting in the lap of nature and coming back to the real earth.
The following day we went to the famous Guryvayurappan temple known as the "holy abode of lord Vishnu on earth".After waiting in the que for three long hours we finally got to see the idol of God. All our exhaustion vanished after getting the glimpse of the smiling face of lord Krishna.
